Racism/Sexism Intervention
Impacting Lives
What is Racism/Sexism Intervention?
This programme aims to address modern societal issues in particular racial profiling and gender biases. At MW we promote an inclusive mindset for our young people in the environments they are situated. Support will be around the effects of negative racial slurs, and the impact they can have on individuals in all key stages of their life.
In addition to this, when it comes to gender, our aim is to show our young people the positive manner in which cultural behaviours must be developed for equality, in educational working and social environments.

Racism
When someone is treated unfairly due to their race, ethnicity, nationality, or colour, this is referred to as racism. Children and young people who receive or see racial discrimination of any kind can feel very distressed and this can escalate into many different issues, often affecting confidence, education and, socialising.
Some of the ways we address racism:
Talking openly to encourage voices to be heard
Embracing diversity
Educating people on racism
Speaking from first hand experiences

There shouldn’t be any boundaries for what men and women should do and we aim to challenge these beliefs in schools by:
