CREATIVITY IN CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE
We are proud of our creative workshops at MW Impact. Creativity helps young people develop critical thinking skills. When you are asked to come up with creative solutions to problems, we as humans are forced to think outside of the box and consider different perspectives. This can help develop problem-solving skills and become more independent thinkers.
Being creative helps form character and takes your mind to a different place. We believe everyone has the ability to be creative and we love watching people flourish in our creative workshops.
“There is no doubt that creativity is the most important human resource of all. Without creativity, there would be no progress, and we would be forever repeating the same patterns”.
Creativity Boosts Self-Esteem
Creativity can boost self-esteem and confidence. When young people create something new and original, they feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. This can help them build self-confidence and feel good about themselves.
Express your Creativity
In our creative workshops people express themselves. Art, music, filming, and other creative activities provide a way for young people to express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. This can be especially important for those who have trouble verbalising their thoughts or who feel misunderstood.
DJ workshops / Music Masterclasses
We use DJ'ing as a way to engage young people to explore various genres of music and use of language, to understand how this can affect their mood, behaviours, and choices in life. Young people undertaking this activity will produce their own mixes and expand their skills during the process, with the support and guidance of well-known professional DJ’s We run a unique music masterclass package where students get to follow a passion is the creative world of music.
Every individual child has different passions and areas where they channel their energies to. With music been such a huge influence and release in people lives the master class really is a popular option. We really explore not just lyrics but the music itself and how its important in many people’s lives and why e.g., feel good factor, mental release, relate to lyrics.
These masterclasses cover:
Vocal coaching
Beat making
Song writing
How to play instruments
Layering music
DJ’ing and mixing
Spoken poetry over music
Creating Skills for Life
Creativity can foster social and emotional development. Participating in creative activities can help young people develop important social skills, such as teamwork and collaboration. It can also help them learn to be more empathetic and understanding of others.
Overall, creativity is an important part of personal and intellectual development, and our team work hard to make our workshops have a positive impact on young people's well-being and success in school and beyond.
